He hit both of them on the back of the neck as they left his home and buried the bodiesin a bush grave.
Park rangers found the bodies of the Armadale couple lying in the crude grave near Marysville.
A pre-sentencing hearing was told that Wales was obsessed and isolated when he murderedhis mother, whom he saw as a dominating "queen".
The court was told that Wales had harboured fantasies about killing his mother andthat on earlier occasions had prepared a noose and sharpened metal objects.
