SA: Water bombers called in to contain Currency Creek blaze

ADELAIDE, Dec 30 AAP - Water bomber aircraft were today used to contain one of several
fires burning across South Australia.

The Country Fire Service (CFS) said two water bombers were dispatched to the state's
south-east when a fire started at Currency Creek at about 1pm (CDT).

More than 70 volunteer firefighters battled the blaze, which burnt about 120 hectares
of grass and scrub before it was contained at about 3.30pm (CDT).

No-one was injured in the fire and no properties were lost, the CFS said.

The blaze was not believed to be suspicious.

Firefighters received calls for help from 7.30am (CDT) today when a small fire was
spotted burning at Bolivar, in Adelaide's north.

The fire was quickly contained, and crews later attended another small fire in Brownswell
in the state's Murraylands.

The CFS said reports of fires continued throughout the day.
