FED:Greens want policy panel and boat inquiry
The Greens have called on the federal government to find a circuit-breaker in the asylum
seeker debate .. like an expert advisory panel to overhaul policy.
The minor party also wants an independent judicial inquiry into last week's Christmas
Island boat tragedy that claimed at least 30 lives.
Greens immigration spokeswoman SARAH HANSON-YOUNG says agreeing to resettle more refugees
is not a trade-off for a humane and compassionate approach to those who arrive on our
shores.
