FED:Minchin criticises Turnbull
Recently retired federal coalition powerbroker NICK MINCHIN has attacked MALCOLM TURNBULL
for being utterly preoccupied with Liberal Party conservatives.
In a letter to The Australian newspaper, the former senator says Mr TURNBULL'S preoccupation
reveals the frontbencher can't get over losing the Liberal leadership in 2009.
Mr MINCHIN, who played a key role in TONY ABBOTT replacing Mr TURNBULL, says it was
Mr TURNBULL'S deficiencies as a leader that led to his demise, not the conservatives.
His comments follow mid-week remarks by Mr TURNBULL on the need for the Liberal Party
not to lurch to the right.

`Don't be shy to converse in English'
Edition: Main/Lifestyle
Section: Main Section
BACHOK: Students, especially those from rural areas, need not feel shy learning and conversing in English as it will help them later in life, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
Awang Adek said those who had poor command of English would find themselves lagging behind, especially when studying at higher learning institutions and attending job interviews.
"Rural students are at a disadvantage as the language is seldom used at home because of family and school backgrounds.
"It is also difficult to find English newspapers in their kampungs and Internet connection is limited.
"If this is not rectified, they would find themselves a step behind others," he said after the launch of his privately-sponsored communication English tuition classes yesterday.
Awang Adek said it was easier for urban children to improve their English because of social interaction and the availability of facilities.
"It is good if we can have children studying English at an early age, possibly at the pre-school level, but the government faces constraints, especially in finding teachers proficient in the language."
He said nationalists should not stop children from studying other languages, especially English, as it was for their own future.
"Why can't our children be bilingual? In Europe, some people speak two or three languages.
"It doesn't make a person less French or German if they speak English, but at official functions, they speak in their national languages.
"It should be the same here. We speak Bahasa Melayu at official events, but when we need to conduct activities in other languages, we should be able to speak in English."
On the tuition classes, Awang Adek said it started in 2008, targeting pupils from Year Four to Six.
"It is held at 34 schools in the district with 40 students from each school. The classes have helped more students get 5As in the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah examination since its inception."
The class is conducted 100 per cent in English. "The classes are effective as the number of students getting 5As in the UPSR examination has risen considerably since it started operations."
At the function, free copies of the New Straits Times and Berita Harian were distributed to students and parents.
The 5,000 copies of newspapers were sponsored by private college Kolej Islam Sains dan Teknologi (KIST).
KIST Holdings vice-president Roomai Noor Ali was also present.

The Greens have called on the federal government to find a circuit-breaker in the asylum

The minor party also wants an independent judicial inquiry into last week's Christmas

Greens immigration spokeswoman SARAH HANSON-YOUNG says agreeing to resettle more refugees

Vic: Two motorcyclists dead in head-on near Shepparton
MELBOURNE, April 2 AAP - Two motorcyclists are dead after their bikes collided head-on
in a pile-up involving more than 50 riders near Shepparton in central Victoria.
Police say another two people who were travelling on a bike with a side car crashed
while trying to avoid the collision, which happened outside the Pine Lodge Cemetery on
the Dookie-Shepparton Road about 2.20pm (AEDT).
A group of 50 to 60 riders, believed to be members of the Outlaws motorcycle club,
had been cruising east when one member of the pack crashed head-on with a rider heading
west.
A 53-year-old Shepparton man and another man died at the scene.
The pair who were injured while trying to avoid the collision, a 53-year-old man and
an 18-year-old woman with injuries described as serious, have been airlifted to hospital.
The deaths take Victoria's road toll to 81 compared with 72 for the same time last year.
The double fatality shatters the aim of Victoria Police, who are carrying out a massive
road safety blitz this Easter, to avoid any road deaths.
Just a few hours into the long holiday weekend police had pulled over and breath-tested
29,000 drivers. Another 863 drivers had been caught speeding.
Other offences detected include 320 drivers caught talking on their mobile phones,
133 not wearing their seat belts, 70 unlicensed drivers and 57 nabbed drink-driving.

The strategic plan acknowledges that consumers and governments expect high environmental
and ethical standards from the industry .. and says it's important that the industry ensures
red meat is recognised as a sustainable product of choice.
But the launch couldn't escape controversy .. with Liberal senator BILL HEFFERNAN criticising
the plan.

Fed: Asbestos disease drug to be given govt subsidy from today
DONE EDS: Embargoed until 0001 (AEDT) January 1, 2008
Sufferers of the asbestos-linked disease mesothelioma will have access to cheap treatment
from today .. ending a long campaign to secure government subsidy.
The federal government says the chemotherapy agent Alimta .. the only treatment available
specifically for the killer cancer of the lung or stomach lining .. will be listed on
the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme from today.
Health Minister NICOLA ROXON says the listing of Alimta is an important announcement
that follows the tireless campaigning of BERNIE BANTON .. who died in November from the
disease.
About 600 Australians are diagnosed annually with mesothelioma .. but the long lag
time between exposure to asbestos and the onset of symptoms means its prevalence is tipped
to rise in the future.
Medical studies have estimated 18 thousand people will have become victims of the disease
by 2020.
Alimta .. which can increase survival time and improve a sufferer's quality of life
.. has been out of reach for many patients at 20 thousand dollars or more for six treatments.
From today .. sufferers will pay a maximum of 31 dollaers.30 for each prescription.
Eligible concession-patients will pay $5 for each prescription.
The subsidy will cost the government about $26 million annually and is expected to
benefit about 300 people a year.
The listing of the drug became an election issue after Mr Banton criticised then health
minister Tony Abbott for failing to personally receive a 17,000-signature petition brought
to his Sydney electoral office in October.
Mr Abbott was forced into an embarrassing apology after questioning whether the dying
campaigner's motives for speaking out were "pure of heart".
A week later, a government-appointed board recommended the drug be added to the PBS
after three times rejecting its listing since 2004.
Mr Abbott bypassed the normal process of cabinet approval by immediately announcing
the drug's listing.
Until now, only about half of Australians suffering mesothelioma were getting easy
access to the palliative care drug through state government subsidy and workplace compensation
schemes.

NSW: Police conduct "poisoned" evidence in Gonzales trial, court
The lawyer of convicted murderer SEF GONZALES says the failure of police to caution
him before questioning .. or to tape the subsequent interview .. should have made the
evidence at his trial inadmissible.
GONZALES is appealing against his conviction and the three life sentences he received
for the murder of his parents and teenage sister .. at their north-western Sydney home
in 2001.
The 25-year-old was convicted of the murders in 2004 after the crown exposed a string
of lies and contradictions in his evidence to police.
His lawyer PAUL BYRNE SC told the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal .. a police interview
conducted with GONZALES .. on the morning of the murders .. had not been not properly
conducted and should have been inadmissible as evidence.
He said the material was obtained in an improper fashion and used in subsequent interviews
.. to shore up and consolidate the case against GONZALES.
However .. Justice RODERICK HOWIE was unimpressed by Mr BYRNE's arguments .. saying
the legislation upon which he relied on .. is not designed to give people such as GONZALES
.. who voluntarily gave the interview in the company of his uncle .. a free shot.
If GONZALES argues his case successfully .. the court could quash his conviction and
order a retrial.

EDITORIAL: Phishy e-mails
University Wire
05-01-2006
(The Lantern) (U-WIRE) COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An April 28 Lantern article examined a recent e-mail that has been sent to many students claiming to be from Chase Bank.
The e-mail tells recipients that their Chase accounts were recently compromised. If recipients follow the instructions, they will be prompted to give to the "phishers" their bank-account and credit-card information. This information does not go to the bank, it goes to people who want to use the information illegally for their own financial gain.
"Phishing," or sending out e-mails, instant messages and other forms of false electronic communication in hopes of luring personal information from unsuspecting consumers, is not a recent phenomenon on the Internet.
This attempt, however, seems to be unique in that it is apparently aimed at Ohio State students and uses the takeover of Bank One by Chase - popular banks among students on campuses around the country - as bait to make the e-mail appear legitimate.
The Office of Information Technology said in the article that OSU is not selling students' information to companies that will send spam and junk mail. This page does not see any reason not to believe that statement, because it would be foolish for OSU to sell out its students for a few dollars. Certainly the windfall of problems that would come from the sale would outweigh any monetary benefits.
This page believes that it is the duty of students to make themselves aware of the dangers that lurk on the Internet. OSU is trying to make that easier, as OIT is slated to have an Internet safety course available autumn quarter.
Because OSU's e-mail naming system is so simple, with the last name, a number and @osu.edu comprising all e-mail addresses, it is easy for spammers and phishers to attack students without collecting any lists of names, and can simply assume what e-mail addresses will work. Therefore, spamming and phishing are always going to be a problem on campus, and it does not seem likely that OSU will ever be able to filter out all dangerous e-mails.
It falls on the responsibility of students to be aware that their bank, credit-card company or any other institution that they are financially involved with is not going to contact them to ask for bank-account or credit-card information, or for a password.
If students do receive such an e-mail, which often look legitimate, they should either go to the Web site of the company manually or contact them by another method to check the validity of the e-mail. It only takes a few minutes to double-check with your bank the validity of an e-mail or electronic communication.
As this page has focused on and written about many times during the past few quarters, student safety is an issue that needs to be addressed on and around campus. Walking around campus, however, is not the only situation in which students could encounter an unsafe situation.
Cyberspace is also a dangerous place, and if students do not remain vigilant and informed, exploring the Internet can lead to theft of money and identity.
This page believes OSU is doing a decent job of making students safe, but also believes there is the potential to do more.
We are not making any demands, but we believe this is an issue that the Undergraduate Student Government and OSU administrators should take a look at to decide if more can be done to protect students.

Vic: Father and son fire victims farewelled in Stawell
By Mike Hedge
STAWELL, Vic, Feb 1 AAP - They granted a wish for Zeke Wilson as they said goodbye
him in Stawell today.
But it was one the 12-year-old could never have imagined would be fulfilled so soon.
Just before Zeke and his father Malcolm "Milky" Wilson died 10 days ago in the bushfires
that swept through western Victoria, he told one of his sisters he wanted everyone to
wear his favourite colour at his funeral.
Today, the boy and his dad who were inseparable best mates were farewelled by their
family and friends, almost all of them wearing something pink.
"Zeke had been talking with his sister Jacinta about death," said Major Alan Laurens
of the Salvation Army.
"He told her that when he died he wanted pink everywhere," Major Laurens said.
As they gathered under a flowering gum across the road from the park where they run
the famous footrace for which the town is best known, the mourners heard about a boy who
"was a man before his time" and a man who was devoted to him.
Zeke's sister Jacinta told of a compassionate, charming practical joker, his teachers
of a born leader and his uncle of the love his father had for him.
"I wasn't the best influence on him," Jacinta Wilson said.
"But Zeke could work it all out for himself."
Malcolm Wilson's mate Eric Lee said his friend was the sort of bloke who would never
let you down.
It was Mr Wilson's willingness and desire to help that, at least in part, led to his death.
As the fires swept through the Grampians near Stawell last Sunday week, Mr Wilson set
off with Zeke to help defend his mother's farm from the flames.
Only two kilometres from the property their car became engulfed in smoke and hit a tree.
The bodies of the father and son were found under a blanket in the front seat where
they had huddled in the vain hope that the flames would pass over them.
Zeke should have been starting high school today.
Instead, his schoolmates were standing in the spitting rain gazing teary-eyed at his
coffin draped with a Richmond football club scarf, a motorbike helmet and a cricket trophy.
Alongside it was his father's, decorated with a black cowboy hat.
Major Laurens, who conducted the funeral service, called on the 500-or-so crowd not
to mourn, but to celebrate the lives of Zeke and his father.
But as they watched his coffin being carried away by his mother Sharon and sisters
Jacinta and Kayla, their difficulty in mustering anything but grief could hardly have
been more obvious.

Rising stars: in a world where big is considered beautiful, small can also mean perfectly formed. David Burrows profiles some of the rising stars of fund management. (Fund Management).(mutual fund management techniques)
Big is not always beautiful. This is certainly true of fund providers where size can be as much a hindrance as an asset. So, it comes as no surprise to find that smaller fund managers, with little public profile, are beginning to steal the limelight from their more illustrious peers.
So how do these new funds with low brand awareness and modest marketing budgets give the big boys a run for their money?
The answer is that as a new group or investment `boutique', the only real barrier to entry is performance. If a new fund produces startling returns, money will inevitably be directed towards it. The evidence is there and investors chase the best performers. All the advertising in the world from a fund provider will count for little if the fund turns out mediocre figures, and props up the bottom of its respective sector performance table. Improved access to information has helped to level the playing field for smaller and newly-launched fund groups. The arrival of the internet and fund supermarkets has meant names like Artemis, CF Odey, Solus, New Star and Liontrust are competing head-on with the likes of Invesco, Gartmore and Henderson.
Mr Motivator
Small groups are usually highly motivated to produce great performance. This is not always true of larger companies. A dinosaur of a fund provider with, say, 36 funds, may feel the priority is not to risk an outflow of money. They tend to take risks that are no different to their peer group. If the fund drops 10 per cent but its main competitors drop 10 per cent, then that is okay. Hanging onto the money is more important.
Also, when funds get to a certain size (around 200m [pounds sterling] plus), investment restraints begin to appear. Larger funds cannot take positions in smaller companies in the way a smaller fund can. It is harder to produce outperformance when the fund is restricted to efficiently-priced blue chips. A 200m [pounds sterling] fund taking a 5 per cent position in a company with a market cap of 20m [pounds sterling] would effectively be buying half the company, and inflating their own share price in the process.
We have increasingly seen a lack of interest in small caps from the big institutions. When a fund gets above 150m [pounds sterling] in size, that is when it gets very difficult to invest in really small companies. Smaller company funds from the likes of Artemis (124.56m [pounds sterling]) and Premier (7.65m [pounds sterling]) are far more nimble. This type of fund can invest in companies with market caps of, say, 10m [pounds sterling] or 20m [pounds sterling] -- and many of them do.
Problems occur when a fund grows because it is successful -- it becomes too large and loses its nimbleness. It is a case of economies of scale, if a UK smaller company fund has 250 small cap holdings and one stock goes up five times, because it is such a low percentage of the overall fund, it is not earth-shattering. If the same stock goes up five times in a small fund, it is Christmas.
Small is beautiful
So, why are these small `boutique' groups being set up? The main reason they have taken off is that experienced fund managers felt the constraints of the large investment houses too stifling. Often these high-profile investment gurus were promoted to levels where they were no longer doing what they enjoyed best -- namely stock picking. With an excellent reputation in the City and a couple of Bloomberg screens in a small office, a fund can be up and running with minimal start-up capital. A high-profile name could attract 20m [pounds sterling] from institutional investors to get the ball rolling. A leading name in fund management will also attract IFA and consumer interest.
New Star is a prime example of a boutique that has put together a team of `star managers'. John Duffield, formerly a star name at Jupiter, has already recruited heavyweight names to New Star -- namely Toby Thompson from Newton and Richard Pease and Alan Miller, both from Jupiter. Small groups attracting good managers have an added advantage in that managers are less likely to move if they have a freer rein to invest the way they like. In many cases, they have put a chunk of their own money into the project. Both Pease and Miller have put money into New Star -- another motivation plus. The group was only launched in 2001 so performance figures are not of much use, but such a high profile has attracted great interest. However for new fund launches in general, it can often be tough breaking into the market, principally because financial advisers are often wary of them.
Mark Dampier, head of research at IFA Hargreaves Lansdown, believes this is an unnecessary stumbling block. "Too many IFAs will not buy a fund unless it has a three-year track record or Standard & Poor's rating. This is crazy, especially when you consider that often the first three years are the best years and besides, many of these fund launches involve high-profile fund managers with impeccable track records. Regulation has made IFAs overly defensive."
Consumers buying into newly launched funds should be wary, however. Often these launches are at the wrong time, i.e. at the top of the market. It may be that a new fund shows a fresh approach to investing in a particular sector, but the flip-side is that it may be following a fad in the market. And if you get into the market late, you are effectively buying it at its highest. Asian tiger funds in 1992, emerging market funds in 1993 and blue chip funds in 1995, are examples of bandwagons that investors jumped onto far too readily.
Investors should do a little homework to avoid rashly parting with hard-earned savings. Martyn Page, investment researcher at Misys IFA Services, stresses the importance of understanding a manager's methods, especially when a new fund has no performance charts behind it. "Investors must understand how the money is managed within a chosen fund and the nature of that fund. If a fund manager makes it plain that they will not invest in technology, you can't accuse the fund manager of losing their touch if there is a tech boom and the fund fails to benefit."
THE EXPERT VIEW
Who do IFAs see as the unsung smaller group funds currently on the market?
James Dalby, head of research at Bates Investments, says:
"Artemis has done a good job in terms of performance with a reasonable fund range. I like the UK Smaller Companies, the European Growth and the UK Equity Income fund.
"Another group I admire is Liontrust, a small player producing good results. (Liontrust First Income has shown top quartile performance over one and three years.) Its followers will increase. I also like BWD UK Smaller Companies fund, and I think new players First State are ones to watch out for in 2002. Their biggest strength is their Emerging Markets fund, but the arrival of high-profile Derek Lygo from Dresdner should help to get the rest of the fund range back on track."
Martyn Page, investment researcher at Misys IFA Services, comments:
"I think Liontrust have a clear investment style. With the First Growth Fund and First UK Investment Trust, fund manager Jeremy Lang looks at where analyst attitudes on expectations of eamings are beginning to change. He then reacts and buys accordingly. He is shrewd and knows his market.
"Two CG's Zenith European Capital Growth is another fund I like. Set up in 2001 by Chris Garsten, formerly of Credit Sulsse and Charles Glasse (previously at M&G), it is a European Blue Chip fund. This small boutique is a safe holding. It is not going to produce a racy performance, but is clear in its focus and provides regular updates on its investment process. Finally, I would have to mention Mars Asset Management's Aurora investment trust, run by James Barstow. A good growth fund with a bias towards Ireland."
Mark Dampier, head of research at Hargreaves Lansdown, comments:
"We recommend Liontrust, in particular its UK Equity Income fund. We also like Artemis -- its UK Smaller Companies fund has caught our eye. And despite the fact that it is so new it has no track record, we like the newly launched New Star."
Anna Bowes, investment services manager at financial adviser Chase de Vere, argues:
"I am happy to recommend New Star funds, though I am looking for a wider range of funds than just UK and Europe. Managing director John Duffield knows how to run a company, and he has attracted a good team of fund managers.
"While I am not recommending them yet, I am also watching the newly-arrived First State with interest. They have a good Asia Pacific fund but, in general, I'd like to see them beef up their investment team a bit first. One name I would certainly recommend is Artemis, a well-run fund management team."
CF ODEY ASSET MANAGEMENT
Tel: 020 7208 1400
Established in 1991 by Crispin Odey, CF Odey Asset Management is Europe's longest-established long-short equity fund manager. The Odey team manages around $650m including a UK unit trust CF Odey European Trust and four hedge funds, including the Odey European Income and the Odey Lathom Global.
According to Odey, the team is not limited to any single style such as growth, value or technical. "We are pragmatic and picking the right style (as our analytical template) at the right time is fundamental to our process. We are not looking for a single, perfect, flawless, 100 per cent certain idea."
Odey believes the fund management industry is obsessed with short-term benchmark-relative returns, with little or no attention to risk.
In contrast, Odey is an investment-led business where benchmarks play no part in the construction of portfolios.

NEW STAR ASSET MANAGEMENT
Tel: 0845 608 8704
New Star is the much-publicised new investment management company, led by John Duffield, who founded Jupiter Asset Management.
The fund management style centres around the `freedom to perform'. Fund managers can operate without the corporate baggage carried by many larger competitors.
Duffield's philosophy is that star managers do not want to be told what companies to invest in and have buy-lists forced onto them. They don't like following an index benchmark, a herd-like approach to investing that compels them to hold shares they don't believe in. Proven fund managers should have freedom to back their own judgement.
The funds are currently restricted to UK and Europe, and investors are watching for the breadth of funds to expand.

CLOSE FUND MANAGEMENT
Tel: 020 7426 4000
The Close Beacon Investment fund is popular with growth investors. The fund's forerunner, The Beacon Investment trust, was launched in August 1994 to invest in small, growing UK companies on the London Stock Exchange.
The trust was converted into an OEIC in December 1999, to allow new investors access to an area of the stock market that has the potential to produce long-term capital growth. It invests in a diversified portfolio of small company stocks, quoted primarily on AIM and Nasdaq, plus those traded on OFEX.
The fund's predecessor saw its value grow by 247.3 per cent since the launch of the AIM index, and it has outperformed both the AIM index and the Hoare Govett Smaller Companies index every year since. It has been in the first quartile of the smaller companies sector since its formation.

SOLUS INVESTMENT FUNDS

Solus operates in a different way to other small group funds, in that the management of its funds are contracted out to third-party managers. As a range of collective investments, Solus allows investors to take advantage of the UK and overseas equity markets, whilst reducing the risk involved.
The more aggressive Solus funds have had a rough ride of late but there has been a recovery. The Special Situations fund, which has shifted its bias towards smaller growth companies as economic forecasts brighten, has jumped to first quartile ranking over one month. Over the longer term it appears to be a good performer too, ranked top five by IFA Chase de Vere over three and five years.
Its UK Growth fund has also made up ground since the move to growth stocks post-11 September and interest rate cuts.

Orange and Nokia Sign (Pound)200m Extension for Further Build Out of Its Mobile Network.
Business Editors, High Tech Writers
HELSINKI, Finland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2000
Nokia is to extend its infrastructure supply relationship with Orange in the UK by a further (pound)200m. The equipment to be delivered includes the continued supply of GSM base station equipment and the triple-mode Nokia UltraSite and Nokia MetroSite mobile multimedia solutions.
These cutting edge systems are ideal for the Mobile Internet era and enable the provision of GSM, HSCSD and EDGE technologies. Nokia will also supply services covering network installation and commissioning.
"The Nokia technology will not only help us to manage our network more effectively, both operationally and financially, but places us on our first step towards next generation mobile services, through the provision of HSCSD and EDGE technologies, " said Bob Fuller, COO of Orange. "This agreement will mean that we will be able to meet the capacity requirements both now and in the future as we see the continued growth in mobile voice and data services."
"This deal is a continuation of Nokia's longstanding and trusted relationship with Orange," said Mr Peter Kuhne, Nokia Networks Area Vice President, West Europe and Africa. "Nokia's solutions will enable Orange to enhance the capacity and quality of the network, but more importantly offer substantial cost benefits as they evolve toward future mobile Internet services."
Nokia's unique solutions can support GSM and next generation technologies in various combinations, giving operators complete flexibility to configure their network as needed to meet the changing demands of subscribers. Thus they are ideally suited to meet the voice and data capacity, quality and cost challenges of continued growth in the UK cellular market.
Nokia is paving the way to the mobile information society with its innovative products and solutions. Nokia is the leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile, broadband and IP networks, related services as well as multimedia terminals. In 1999, net sales totaled EUR 19.8 billion (USD 19.9 billion). Headquartered in Finland, Nokia is listed on the New York (NOK), Helsinki, Stockholm, London, Frankfurt and Paris stock exchanges and employs more than 55 000 people.

services. As well as Orange GSM 1800 services, this includes
other digital cellular telephone and paging services.

-- Prices shown are resale prices currently recommended by
Orange. Resellers are free to set their own terms, so prices
and offers available to customers may vary.
-- Orange provides high quality coverage to 99% of the UK
population and over 80% of the geographic area. Coverage is
based on hand portable, unlike some other operators which
choose to base their coverage on boosted car kits.
-- Orange is the largest and fastest-growing digital mobile phone
network in the UK, with over 6,900 base stations, and more
than 10,000 sites targeted by 2001.
-- In October 1999, OFTEL, the UK's telecommunications industry
regulator, published the results of surveys carried out by the
four UK GSM mobile communications networks to assess their
relative performance. Orange was shown to be the best
performing network, with an average call success rate of
97.3%.
-- In November 1999, the Consumers' Association's Which? magazine
published a survey of its members and concluded: "Orange was
easily the best all round. It consistently came first, or very
near the top, for both the quality of its network and customer
service."
-- Orange was the first network operator to introduce Enhanced
Full Rate in February 1998. EFR provides fixed line call
quality across the entire Orange network to all customers at
no extra charge.
-- Orange now offers roaming on 194 networks in 93 countries.
The Nokia MetroSite Capacity Solution reduces the investment cost of microcellular networks to a completely new level while enabling smooth evolution to the 3rd generation. A key part of this site solution is the Nokia MetroSite Base Station family, which provides focused voice and data capacity for global GSM, EDGE and WCDMA network operators.
Nokia UltraSite provides a gateway to mobile multimedia in this macrocellular site solution for GSM, EDGE and WCDMA networks. This unique solution was the world's first to combine GSM, EDGE and WCDMA capability inside one "triple-mode" base station.
